In the purest tradition and genre that gave Toile de Jouy its reputation, the patterns display charming scenes set over time, bucolic scenery and traditional fields. In amongst the village houses, farms and ruins, the lives of men and animals is punctuated by alternating scenes of working in fields (harvesting, picking, fishing) and the festival where they drink, smoke, play music, dance and sing.
